Is it sacrilegious to not like Hercules and Love Affair? They seem to be critically acclaimed across the board but it doesn’t excite me at all. A 9.1 on Pitchfork? Really? I like DFA tracks prolly MORE than the next guy but this does nothing for me. Maybe it is because I don’t live in New York. I think if you live there you have to praise Antony Hegarty (of Antony and the Johnsons) as Jesus. Living in Texas I take simple pleasures like the Parlor, Ghostland Observatory and Real Ale rather than Antony, Hercules and pan-sexuality. (Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that) If it is supposed to be so disco shouldn’t it be more fun and less creepy?
