in the land of the infected, the immune man is king - john

In five, maybe ten years you will all be having Doomsday watching parties or lining up around the local oddball theatre for a midnight screening of one of the best cult film of your generation. You will need to be able to tell your surrounding moon people (btw- I assume we will be on the moon by this point in time) that you actually saw it on 35mm film (btw- I assume film we be dead and gone by then) and then have them worship you. What I’m saying is: Doomsday is amazing. It is a giant meta-love letter to all sorts of dudetastic genre movies. Literally edge of seat action as characters get decapitated, set on fire, hang out in castles, use maces, scream, it is so ridiculous and over the top that there is nothing for it to be except super fun. It is a completly intensely insane movie.Go see it before it leaves theatres. Add it to your netflix que now. Preorder the DVD. Doomsday is the bomb.
In Austin music news: it looks like there is a last minute INCREDIBLE show at the Mohawk this Sunday night (March 30th) featuring Bill Callahan (midnight) and Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater(11). Should be pretty intimate and special as they are playing on the inside stage. When you are living on the moon in the future you will reflect fondly on the lyrical genius that both these men posses and how lucky you were to live in Austin to witness it first hand.
