9/11 was lame but CLOVERFIELD WAS AWESEOME! The panic shown in Manhattan and the ashy people after the attack was done so well it felt just like watching the news from that day in 2001. This is a much better commentary on the terror than any Spike Lee or Oliver Stone post 9/11 film. It shows it all straight up POV, with very little setup on the characters and absolutely ZERO set up on what is going on: no gobbledy gook about nuclear testing, no underwater advanced civilization sending up a warrior to take over the land, just a totally badass monster. Suspend your disbelief and go to your local movie theatre and check it out!
I could feasibly watch this movie a few times a week just to fully take in and cherish the glimpses of the monster. God bless JJ Abrams for making the monster movie fun again. Lost starts in 10 days. Mark your calendar.

So, is the movie about 9/11, or is it about post 9/11, or is it just allusions to terror such as were seen in 9/11? Your semantics have me confused. Perhaps you should go to a master dialectician.
JJ Abrams pretty much rules, except for that whole Felicity thing. I read a review in Entertainment weekly about Cloverfield, an hearin him talk about it was fun enough without even seeing the flick!

the movie is LIKE 9/11 because new york gets jumped by evil. and people die. the whole operation is FUBAR. (so would say a gay tank commander)
