Austin has a new group of folk who go to awesome shows, film them, and put them up online for the world to marvel at. The AV geeks over at Switchburn have been putting up three cameras worth of footage for some of the best of the best passing thru Austin for over a year now. The site is always great to check out if you had to skip an Emo’s show for a family function or if a restraining order kept you away from the Mohawk one weekend… Switchburn might have been there and might have just the high quality uncut video footage you need to rectify your unfortunate situation.
Their Dan Deacon footage from Friday night’s show at Emo’s is a little dark but that is just the nature of a show by a man who control all of his lights from the same wobbley table that has his voice wah wah pedals and garbage can oscillators on it. They do capture the insanity of the crowd with flying colors tho. During the Crystal Cat the middle camera focuses on the trippy green skull and it is just as, if not more mesmerizing than seeing it in person. Check out the videos here:
