   Anticon is one of those labels that is tried and true.  There are a handful of them out there (Merge, frenchkiss etc) that can’t seem to do wrong.  Will I feel this way in 10 years?  Probably.  They put out original hip-hop with fascinating production and have an insane DIY/collective allegiance that is to be commended.  Whenever any of their artists roll thru Austin it is always a cause for the fans to come out of the woodwork and tomorrow night inside Emo’s is no different. We are thilled to be able to giveaway a pair of guestlist passes!   

   One-man barbed wire fast noise machine Daniel Francis Doyle opens up on the local portion of the bill.  Austin Sound recently did a nice feature on the Furniture Records mainstay and “leaked” two brand new mp3s that you should DEF grab to impress your “chunky, depressed…early 20's” friends.

 Telephone Jim Jesus is one of those white dudes who can pull of dreadlocks no problem.  The 'anti k fed' if you will.  In addition to putting out a recent GREAT solo album homeboy is also a registered deputy marriage commissioner who recently performed an oh so official and legal exchanging of vows for my Californian newlywed peeps the Landerpants.  If getting authorized to perform a marriage for friends isn’t a sign of an upstanding citizen then I don’t know what is.  This dude is an Anticon MVP by transitive property.  I was always big Restiform Bodies fan so I am so happy that Telephone Jim is carrying on the fine tradition.   

   Sole And The Skyrider Band  headlines.   I have never had the chance to see Sole live so I am excited!  His release last year with the Skyrider Band was one of my favorites and if I had my top ten list to do again … oh man… OR if I had a 2007 top ten Conscious hip-hop list… it would be number one.  The production on it is sick and I have no idea what to expect from the live show.  Only good can come; the question is: “how much of face will remain unblown away?”
