   Thank you to everyone who came out to Draft Sessions on Saturday night! What a pleasure to share an improv experiment of local rap and local grubby electro jungle rock with a brewery full of people.  

   I am always pleased with the brave Austinites who venture off the beaten path of Red River and have themselves a time in the REAL warehouse district of Austin- the kind with actual packing and shipping warehouses- not just the kind with expensive restaurants and gay bars. Draft Sessions is built around the fundamental idea that people like to see music in an unconventional environment so we are continually thrilled that you show up and prove the theory correct!

   Storm Shadow  and his hype man got the crowd excited about being from the “ATX” and made onlookers ecstatic when they weaved in and out of the crowd rapping and doing the Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff secret handshake. Franco B  brought the energy and the raw lyrics in his prerecorded tracks but shone the most in the freestyle portions of the evening. Franco B came across as a hybrid of a less angry Zach De La Rocha  and a less pony-tailed Arron from Ghostland Observatory.  Obviously the results were interesting. DJ Orion- pictured above- spit (pardon my lameness) mad fire all over the place. Orion is the main man behind Raw Word Records, his commitment to local hip hop is inspiring.

   The Laughing's new material has graduated from white tiger themed concept rock to something much more dissent, aggressive and as as Recovering Lazy-holic called it- “smutty.”

   Ultimately- even tho there was no break dancing, everyone was impressed at the musicianship of all involved and due to the complimentary Independence beer, a legendary time was had!
