daft, punk, quiet, lovely - john (austin,tx)

Our favorite former Denton party starter turned Austin PartyEnder DJ Markus with a K  straight killed it at the Mohawk last Friday night on the outside stage.  He has finally released a new mix tape titled IHeartDaftPunk.  All the tracks are by, remixed, or reference the musical robots Daft Punk.  It clocks in at about 35 min and keeps the attention the whole way thru.  I am still amazed that he managed to keep the cowbell element from LCD’s Daft Punk is Playing at My House interesting while it weaves in and out of blend after blend.

See it all live in Austin at Red 7 on May 18th  at the IHEARTDAFTPUNK dance party night!  Markus with a K will be wearing the space helmets along with a slew of other djs along with the best thing about At All Cost- the side project from electro dance heaven- L.A.X. The show will also serve at the L.A.X. EP release. Niiiice.

Good lord- that’s going to be a lot of Daft Punk remixes.  I’ll be there in my Mummy from the Around the World video costume…

Reverting back to the beginning of this post- the part where I mentioned the Mohawk; It should be noted that this Saturday night the inside stage will be hosting the historic one time only reunion show of the late great Waco co-op gods Quite, Lovely, the Sad Accordions and Secret Sideshow will also be playing.  And on the outside stage that night- I will be Djing all night long.  What a night.  Come by say hello and witness some of the most sincere Texas love and love gone awry songs ever in a very rare reunion show.
