not quite baile funk - luther (dallas,tx)

I know I kind of harp on about the super fun and more recently super trendy I'm From Barcelona and the intriguing concept behind the group (consisting of a bunch of swedish friends who are certainly not from Barcelona), but I had to drop a line to let y'all know that one of my favorite albums of last year (released in the UK and Europe) has finally hit the US shores. though I'm a couple days late, as of March 20th you should be able to pick up the phenomenal Let Me Introduce My Friends LP at finer music stores anywhere around the country. I expect this to make a pretty big splash now that it's finally actually available here. I have to admit, though, I'm a little freaked out that when I went to find an MP3 of their second single Treehouse I found blog after blog who had been forced to remove even the live recordings of anything but We're From Barcelona by none other than Virgin, whom I'm guessing is the umbrella corporation over Dolores Recordings. Weird; I'm not a fan of that shit. Anyway, go stream these great songs from their Myspace so I don't get sued by the suits behind the music, and pick up a copy of this exciting new album.

Stream: I'm From Barcelona

Whow, I just read this great interview with the man behind IFB and apparently the name is from the British comedy classic series Faulty Towers. I totally thought that the first time I heard it and didn't even consider it being the real source of the name. Awesome.
