Party Ends

   I just thought it was worth mentioning that I have really been digging this new track from Australia's Macromantics. An emcee strait outa' the Outback (not the steak house), Romy Hoffman used to play guitar for Ben Lee (which is awesome) and now has a few music projects rolling around, the latest of which is this. Obviously riding the coat tails of SOV and M.I.A. (at least a little, come on!), Hoffman's flow is still unique and powerful, with a jagged edge to it's clever content. Socially conscious and self aware, the beats, provided by DJ Amy, and fast paced flow meld into something fresh and genuine. At any rate, I like it, though I've only heard this one track so far, and I think we can expect some great things to come of this in the near future, especially after Kill Rock Stars releases her first album Moments in Movement later this year. Look for her touring with the omnipotent Deerhoof in the next couple of months, as well as some SXSW action.
