this post is brought to you by the letter g - luther (dallas,tx)

If you have been reading and listening to what we here at Party Ends have to dish out for a while, you might recall a mix that we put out a few months back; the second song in there was a track off a little 8 track disc we ended up with at the close of last SXSW. The only really descent song on the CD, when I first heard ABC, by Coco Solid, I was instantly entranced by the simplicity of the composition, the lo-fi dirtiness of the sound, and, of course and as always, the outright crudity of the lyrics. Not only effective and clever, but heart warmingly forthright.

Hailing from New Zealand and sporting what I assume are character avatars, Coco Solid, Erik Ultimate, and DJ Han are cold blockin' it and ready to step. Following in the footsteps of classic rap themes, and pushing it with ironic, over the top clichés, and dirty, silly lyrics, the music has everything you could ask for, and nothing more. There isn't any frilly icing, just solid beats, tight rhymes, and effective orchestration. Listen to these tracks and you will want to do it, ABC with me:
