val 'holla!' - luther
Ok, so we've kind of avoided talking about this pretty fucking incredible band called Valhalla for a really long time simply because they have been, well, 'in process' for something close to a year or more now and we wanted to wait and see where things were going and how they wanted to present themselves to the world. Well, we're tired of waiting, and we want some people to hear these guys, and to show our support for them and what they will someday become.
So this is the first post of what I'm sure will be many in the ongoing legacy of a group of three of the most talented, not to mention nicest, guys I know. Composed of Austin (guitar & vox), JB (bass), and David (drums), this three piece sounds not only bigger than most traditional five pieces, but has one of the tightest, most energetic live shows I've ever seen. The technical abilities of the group shine both on their unofficial EP, thats only really been handed out at a few shows, and in their stage presence. Between catchy hooks and choruses, dense walls of sound are broken down into tripped up beats, funky bass lines, and blazing, complex guitar work, only to be built back up again in order to start it's process over. If you have an opportunity to see these guys play now, do it, because they are poised to blow up overnight, get a premium deal, and sell out good sized venues within a period of months.

After recording their EP here in Texas (in our hometown of Weatherford, no less), the group that formed at Berklee College of Music in Boston has now relocated to Los Angeles, in the heart of whats 'happening'. So watch out, cause these guys are gonna come out of nowhere and end up everywhere. Just a heads up. We'll keep you posted as news develops.
Here are a couple of my favorite tracks from thier EP:

MP3 - Valhalla - Stop Your Heart (older, non-EP version, it's great) - ![]()
