When Stay Gold takes over Emo’s Lounge, we book a live musical act. Previous groups have been Valhalla, Economy, and Fancy Feast. I cannot get enough of Fancy Feast. Fancy Feast is the solo project of Cari Palazzolo who was/is half of the twin combo of front women who lead the amazing band Belaire. With Belaire on a break while one twin is in NY and the rhythm section is living the good life with Voxtrot, Cari has been staying plenty busy.

She scored the music for (local theatre group) Yellow Tape's dance epic ‘We are Normal, Cha Cha Chaaaa’ and got all sorts of positive reviews around town.

Her score included a mix of Fancy Feast tracks as well as stripped down Belaire songs. This post is partially my penance for not getting off my ass and going to see it. I chose Flavor of Love 2 reruns over seeing live, innovative, thought provoking theatre.

There is a full length Fancy Feast album that gets handed out on a CD-R at shows that is amazingly fun. Her music is delightful hip-hop, low fi pop that is so energetic live it’s not even funny… Perfect for any house party.
