Party Ends

   ACL FEST is right around the corner and that means that there are about to be all sorts of parties with amazing bands and amazing booze.

   Thursday night at the new Red River club the Mohawk local online media masterminds Austinist is orchestrating an amazing showcase of local talent. For FREE you can catch up and comers horse + donkey, Loxsly , Till We’re Blue or Destroy, Brothers and Sisters and IV Thieves. There will be DJ sets from Car Stereo (wars) and from Stay Gold alternating inside and out all night long. There will be projections, fire dancers, what more do you people need? This is THE place to be on Thursday night. I hope there are plenty of industry bigwigs from out of town who happen upon this party because the bands playing truly are some of the best we have to offer.

   Factory People always knows what is up with yet another edition of DJ Sets By Rockstars (Friday thru Sunday). For those without the coveted ACL wristband this is perfectly fine way to be in the air conditioning, drinking, brushing shoulders with your favorite acts and while you are at it…. buying some jeans. Factory People has the market cornered for the ACL Friday night afterparty… last year they dominated with Ghostland Observatory blowing everyone’s mind and DJ sets by M83. This year is no different… the only weekend appearance from MSTRKFT is going down at the invite only event. I sure do like MSTRKFT. Yep. I also like Misprint who is sponsoring the event. Yep. Oh and DJ CeePlus… he is really great also. Yep.

   Sunday night at the Beauty Bar seems pretty legit. The Carrots from Austin and PartyEnds favorites Peachcake are both playing on the last night of the festival. . I think there are a bunch of bands playing at Zilker Park also… but who knows…

   This is all I really have to report at this time. Call me "out of the loop" on the after parties and whatnot because this is all I know about at the time. I am sure that Tom Petty or heaven forbid- even the Heartbreakers are playing somewhere on a stage made of pure money- but- these are all the places that I hope to be. Fuck Tom Petty. And fuck the Heartbreakers.
