the party - luther

So, it finally came and has finally gone. . . and it was ridiculous. Two nights ago, in the heart of Austin at Gallery Lombardi, where all the action is, we unleashed the big Summer Party, presented by Party Ends, Green Potato Ventures, Sparrowhead, The Austinist, and Super!Alright!, and it was off the fucking hook. Up against a regular lineup of Saturday night Austin activities, as well as a sold-out Ghostland Observatory show, the turnout was more than we had hoped for, and almost more than we could handle.

Between the phenomenal bands, the free booze, and the trains rollin' by 20 yards away, somehow nobody got hurt and everyone seemed to have a pretty good time. With a steady flow of Independence beer and Titos vodka, the night was forever young and the bathroom line seemed only to grow.

The first band up was Economy, followed by Tacks, the Boy Disaster, then Cue and finally the Lemurs; all of whom played incredible shows and not only kept their own fans happy, but enthralled everyone else within earshot. The kids just kept on coming and every band rocked the block until we closed the doors around 2am. To the spinning tunes of Stay Gold, we had to push and prod the last straggling dancers out the door, stumbling like hipster Jesus's across the alcohol and sweat lake that used to be the floor.

The scene defied description, but you might be able to get an idea in our photos section, and checkout the Austinist for a rundown of their own. Check back later this week as we dissect the bands performances further, and release some details about our next run of projects, parties, and general popular-cultural alchemy.
