spooky scary – luther

October 31st, 2008

Well my minions, it’s finally Halloween. It’s seemed like a long haul, waiting all week, but you can finally dig into those sno-balls, popcorn-balls, and any other balls you might have been holding off eating. I have to admit that this year, Austin is seeming a little laxed about it’s dealings with the spooky holiday as there’s only a few actual events I can think of going on tonight, one of which is the Lemurs, Laughing, and Low Line Caller show tonight at the BYOB joint Victory Grill. Nothing to sniff at, I know, but for being a town synonymous with crazy-ass Halloween parties (we are, apparently) I expected more. There’s always Jello shots with the last minutes toga frat boys down on 6th street but that’s what you do every other weekend of the year, and tonight’s special.

Maybe I can’t point you in the direction of the spookiest revelry, but at the very least I can leave you with some of my choicest hallows-eve jamz, one being the hilariously novel Werewolf Batr Mitzvah from 30 Rock, which is officially this years’ Hallow-Jam. I actually put together a lengthy playlist of morbidly themed songs this year, and these are my top picks. Now let’s get loaded on fun-sized Snickers and watch Halloween 5.

MP3: Tracy Jordan- Werewolf Bar Mitzvah

MP3: Screamin’ Jay Hawkins- I Put a Spell on You

MP3: Johny Cash- The Man Comes Around
