Absolutely one of our favorite Austin bands  The Laughing are back with their first full length record, titled Fever!  This is their third release and third time working with the masterful producer Erik Wofford, who has propelled Explosions In The Sky, Okkervil River and Voxtrot into household names. The new record speaks volumes to the band’s maturity and talent level. The songs are all structured in a way that exudes ability, agility and showcase the secret weapon of the group- drummer Grant Van Amburgh.

The tribal beats, lush production and catchy hooks make this a perfect fit for Animal Collective and Beach Boys disciples alike.  Intermingling, Paul Simon’s Graceland and Q and Not U’s Different Damage; Fever proves itself incredibly complex. There are literally layers upon layers of vocals, percussion and subtext that make it a captivating listen and a compulsionary re-listen.

This record is phenomenal and is certain to gain the attention the band has been worthy of since day one. Grab it beginning October 15th at the release show at Red 7 in Austin. Corto Maltese & Gospel Truth are opening things up.
