Fantastic Fest is winding down, Austin City Limits Fest is approaching then after that is Austin Film Festival, the Dismember the Alamo Zombie Film festival and Fun Fun Fun Fest. Busy times in Austin theses days I tell you what.

You already know what good bands there are to see at ACL fest this weekend. You already know that Phoenix is playing that one after party. You already know that you should bring $300 cash for food in a cone and parking or bribing the person at the front of the bus line. How many hippie samples do you think Girl Talk is going to use to pander to the KGSR set? Maybe a little Country Joe and the Fish underneath some Soulja Boy Tell Um?

I have just been stepping back this week and letting everyone else beat you over the head with RSVP lists and what bands have good mp3s etc this week. Sorry for the apathy. But the excitement just isn’t there for me this time around. Wake me up when it’s over and it’s safe to drive into south Austin again.

Since Mothfight can easily be compared to Animal Collective for a percentage of their music when they aren’t being compared to a thousand other bands from past decades/alternate dimensions, and that Phoenix is playing this weekend, it seems fitting to post this remix that is gently taking the internet by quit storm this morning.
