Good morning everyone. I always want you to be as in the loop as possible about Austin music happenings. You come to PartyEnds for the music, and stay for the all you can pie. Hmmm… good ol pie.
I assume that one day I will be one of those bearded old Austin guys in head to toe denim who talks about how the Austin “scene” used to be and will tell my Ghostland Observatory story about seeing them at a long closed down club with a crowd of 10 friends at an ancient music festival called SXSW. I will sip my SpaceLonestar and reflect on the good ol days about back when the Mohawk used to be called something else, I’ll tell horror stories about an awful band that wrote their name on sidewalks all over town called Two Guy Trio and remind the youngsters that there was a time before the staff of Kabobalicious was elected chairmen of the Texas board of Agriculture. Their eyes will roll back into their heads as I go into this one again: “There once was this band from a town called “San Marcos” where everyone who liked to dance and clap got together and formed a band that did nothing but, and lo, they were called Clap! Clap! Then, the reality of herding a band of 10+ people set in and they went their separate ways. Tragic really. I think the main clapper and dancer guy is the head of an advertising agency in New York. Also, I used to have a website with my friend Luther and we gave everyone pie.”
One of the newest projects to emerge from the ashes of Clap!Clap! comes to us in the form of Missions. Missions is composed of Josh Mills who acted as visionary and front man in Clap!Clap! and his new collaborator a long time super star DJ Markus with a K. Amber Zook from Slowreader lends her talents as well. The trio has been in the beat laboratory for a while now and has materialized with a two new tracks that are full of minor keyed snyhs and dark wave beats. It is the dopamine to Clap!Clap!’s serotonin. Channeling the Knife, Joy Division, and Gary Numan, the group very well may bring back the dark toned synthesizer rock of yesteryear with a 2009 space themed twist.
The first official Missions show is on October 1st at Club Mixx. Impress your friends with the new hotness from Austin with these brand new MP3s!

Speaking of phoenixes, a big change is on the horizon for my local east Austin coffee shop- well not really, they will probably just get a new sign, but Clementine will be no more and instead it will officially become a Thunderbird Coffee. This is not a huge shock as the two have been owned and operated by the same team since their inception. It will remain a great place to hang and have a pint of (512) peacan porter, thank god it is not turning into one of those weird undercover corporate “hip” starbucks!

Tonight, be sure to make it out to the Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek at by 10om for the latest installment of Horror Remix. This one takes three awful 80’s sorority slasher horror movies and condenses them all down into under 2 hours. I guarantee this is some of the best free fun you can have on a Wednesday night. Get there early as these typically fill up. Enjoy the rainy Austin day!

under no circumstances should your band ever chalk up a sidewalk.
or cut holes in your knee socks and wear them on your arms.
especially if you’ve already taken off your shirt.
