Nu Ravers on the Block Party (or NROTB) are a Montreal based duo (Mr.P and Mister Ed) who just did a Major Lazer remix that caught my attention. This is only interesting because there are so many versions of this track out there right now, making this single the new D.A.N.C.E.
Their adaptation is more dance clubby than the source material without being TOO dance clubby. This is a true feat for a group that has both the terms “nu” and “ravers” in their moniker…. The biggest appeal of this track, (like most of the remixes of it) is that it’s a variation on the original, which is so catchy and mad decent to begin with, that even deconstructing elements of it lets it remain a jam.
NROTB have a new EP in queue they are working hard on when they aren’t throwing what sounds like the biggest dance party in Montreal. Attendees are probably getting a good taste of what is next in line for them as well as a chance to freak out with the elephant sound FX that are predominant in the Hold the Line remix.
